Pacific WWII History Talks Repository

Preserve the Voices. Protect the Truth. Build a Global Legacy.

Join the Campaign to Create the Pacific WWII Stories National Repository

The stories of World War II in the Pacific are fading. Veterans and civilian witnesses — those who lived through the defining conflict of the 20th century — are reaching the twilight of their lives. Their firsthand accounts, captured in film, photographs, letters, and memories, are vanishing with each passing day.

Before they are lost forever, Pacific Historic Parks is launching an urgent and visionary campaign to create a National WWII Pacific Stories Repository — a permanent digital archive of recorded histories, videos, photographs, and interviews from every corner of the Pacific Theater.

This global resource will:

  • Collect and digitize historical documents, home movies, veteran and civilian interviews, and family-submitted archives
  • Transcribe and tag content for accurate, searchable access
  • Translate into multiple languages so stories can be heard and understood across borders
  • Provide public access to students, teachers, families, researchers, historians, and future generations

A Global Archive for a Global History

The Pacific WWII Stories National Repository will be a global resource — offering truth, remembrance, and education to descendants, researchers, students, and families. By sharing stories of heroism, trauma, and humanity from all sides of the conflict, it will serve as a tool for healing and a lasting legacy for peace.

Why This Matters

World War II claimed over 55 million lives and reshaped every continent on Earth.

The Pacific Theater alone stretched across vast oceans, islands, and nations — touching millions of military personnel and civilians from the United States, Japan, Australia, China, Korea, the Philippines, and dozens of Pacific Island communities.

Families were destroyed. Cultures scarred. Cities leveled. And still, the stories that connect us to that time are at risk of disappearing forever.

The voices of the past must not fade into silence. This is our moment to preserve their words, their warnings, and their wisdom — for the sake of every future generation.

Help us preserve the voices of the past to protect the future. Become a Pacific Memory Keeper today.

Your Gift Makes History Possible

We cannot do this without you. When you contribute to the creation of the WWII Pacific Stories Repository, you become a Pacific Memory Keeper — a guardian of our shared history and a builder of global understanding. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Honor a loved one by dedicating your donation
  • Be listed as a Founding Supporter on the project website and in permanent acknowledgment records
  • Preserve stories that might otherwise be lost to time

This project is more than an archive. It is a promise—that we will never forget the devastation of war, and we will always seek peace through knowledge, memory, and truth.
