Honor the Fallen. Preserve Their Legacy. Inspire Future Generations.

Help Restore the USS Oklahoma Memorial

At the solemn heart of Ford Island, the USS Oklahoma Memorial stands in quiet formation — a poignant tribute to the 429 brave crew members who lost their lives in the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Each of the 429 white marble columns represents a sailor or Marine who perished, a life cut short in service to our nation.

But time and weather have not been kind.

The marble pillars — symbols of honor and sacrifice — are cracking, shifting, and deteriorating. The memorial, part of the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, is at risk of permanent damage without immediate restoration and preventive preservation.

This Is Our Moment to Act

Pacific Historic Parks is launching a bold campaign to raise $5 million to fund a full restoration of the USS Oklahoma Memorial and ensure it receives the ongoing care it deserves through regular preservation and maintenance, today and for decades to come.

Why This Memorial Matters

The USS Oklahoma Memorial is more than a place of remembrance — it is a classroom in stone. Every student who visits, every family who stops in quiet reflection, every veteran who returns to honor fallen shipmates, carries away a message that endures:

  • War has a cost.
  • Peace is a choice.
  • Preparation is essential.

If we fail to act, we risk not only the loss of physical integrity — but the erosion of memory and meaning.
